Introducing the 2026 REV ION FRC Starter Bot!

The new FRC season has been unearthed, the game manuals have been decoded, and we are thrilled to unveil the 2026 REV ION FRC Starter Bot for REBUILT!

Built entirely from the REV ION ecosystemarrow-up-right, this year's design is designed to be a strong and adaptable foundation for your team. Our 2026 REV ION FRC Starter Bot’s design centers on simplicity and adaptability, providing a solid base that allows your team to start strong, evolve, and rebuild to make it your own as the season unfolds. Whether your strategy involves scoring fuel in the hub or acting as a high-volume supplier for your alliance, this robot provides the essential tools to compete effectively while leaving plenty of room for your own innovations.

Features

Drivetrain

Compatible with both EasySwerve and MAXSwerve, the drivetrain of the 2026 REV ION FRC Starter Bot gives teams the freedom to choose their preferred style of swerve. This robot will easily navigate bumps while delivering reliable, consistent performance, all while maximizing internal space for other critical subsystems and storage of game pieces.

Intake

During REBUILT matches, scoring cycle times are vital. The 2026 Starter Bot’s intake system is built to intake fuel over the widest footprint possible. It features a compliant four-bar arm, deployed passively, to begin intaking fuel as soon as the robot starts moving during autonomous. While it excels at collecting game pieces quickly, the intake and conveyor system is versatile enough to eject fuel when necessary, giving teams more control over game piece management.

Fuel Storage & a Functional Floor

The 2026 Starter Bot optimizes internal game piece management to ensure your robot stays organized and ready to score. The storage area is integrated directly with the drivetrain and outer frame, creating ample room for game pieces. Using RT 25 belts for easy assembly and center-to-center distance, the integrated conveyor floor actively funnels pieces toward the launcher. This section also utilizes our new 1/2in Grid Patterned Polycarbonate Sheet, which serves as an organized and easily customizable canvas for your control system, sponsor logos, and other team decorations.

Launcher

When it's time to score, the Launcher subsystem is engineered for high-energy transfer and jam-free operation. The mechanism uses a strategic mix of compliant wheels and our new 6in flap wheels to serve multiple functions in a small footprint. While the compliant wheels collect fuel from the storage area, the flap wheels simultaneously agitate the storage area and provide transfer of the fuel to the flywheel on the opposite side of the tower. We intentionally included hood curvature and strategic dead space to maximize energy transfer between the flywheel and the game piece during launch. The flywheel itself is powered by two Vortex motors with an "upduction" system to increase surface speed at the point of contact. The hood is constructed from gridded polycarb, allowing for precise, on-pitch compression adjustments between the frame and hood supports.

Designed to be REBUILT

As always with our Kickoff Concepts program, we want this design to spark fresh ideas rather than limit them. We have intentionally left plenty of on-pitch mounting space available on the robot’s frame for teams to add a climber of their own design or other custom improvements. This free space is primarily located at the front above the intake, above the ball storage area, and on either side of the launcher mechanism.
